Anjuli Sherin
The Emerging Leader of the Year Award recognizes significant accomplishments in the areas of education, business, and service to community among the next generation – those young women aged 20-29. We seek to “lift as we climb” by honoring one young woman among the “bright and bright eyed” who is just beginning her professional and philanthropic pursuits. The 2007 Emerging Leader of the Year is Anjuli Sherin, from San Francisco, California.
Anjuli spent the first eighteen years of her life in Pakistan, and left home to pursue her education and career in the U.S. She graduated Summa Cum Laude, with numerous awards for academic excellence and community service, from Mary Washington College, and went on to receive her Masters in Counseling Psychology from California Institute of Integral Studies. Anjuli has devoted her time in the U.S to working with under-served teens, and currently works as a Child Parent Psychotherapy Coordinator for teen mothers and their babies. She is also the owner of a Reiki healing arts business, Urmila, and proud to be an Assistant at the transformational Life Empowerment Action Program. Anjuli’s dream is to acknowledge the depth of loving mentorship she has received in her life, by creating a foundation that creates global change through facilitating the educational, economic, and socio-spiritual emancipation and healing of other young women from developing countries.
